The Creative Arts Zone

Blog

2 minutes minute read

A hub of creativity and craziness - served with afternoon tea! We have lots going on every day, and every day it’s a little different, a little more creative and perhaps just a little crazier. This zone is open to everyone who wants to explore something of the arts, such as: painting and sculpture, crafting and knitting, drama, dance, radio, oh and drinking tea.

Each day there are different workshops to sign up to, just pop in to the Creative Arts Zone and put your name down for the workshops you would like to do. You can choose from: Wire drawing, encounter art, stencil art, character creations or T-shirt revamp (move over Gok Wan) or just get stuck into the open studio.  You can also see which drama workshops are taking place and sign up for those too.

This year, we are taking dance to the streets of Norwich! We want large numbers of you dancers to sign up on Day 1, rehearse and then flash-mob Norwich on days 3, 4 & 5. This is a great way of engaging people in Norwich and helping raise the profile of the local church. This is part of the outreach teams working into Norwich, so if you can learn a routine, and are willing to be part of something big, then step up and dance on.

New to Newday this year is Newday Radio (87.7fm) and we need your help to make it happen. If you are a budding presenter, producer, gofer etc. again come and visit us in the Creative Arts Zone and we’ll help you get involved. Newday Radio needs you and your skills.

Don’t forget the Creative Arts Zone will have the wonderful knit and knatter corner again this year as well as the bead bar and craft bar. And if all that isn’t enough, you can visit the gallery and, of course, have an afternoon tea at The Tea Rooms.

Afternoon Tea at The Creative Arts Zone is going to be quite an event. We have a wonderful selection of teas for you to choose from as well as scones with clotted cream and jam (or a slice of cake). Along with the sheer pleasure of enjoying tea and cake (the epitome of perfect indulgence) you will be serenaded by Serena, whose voice is as close to the angels singing as one could get on earth. Take time time out of your busy day to relax in the vintage surroundings and enjoy the artwork displayed in the gallery.

Come along and see how you can get involved.
