Leaders' Retreat

Friday 7 - Sunday 9 November 2025

The Newday Youth Leaders Retreat 2025 is an intentional time to gather, be refreshed, and be reignited as leaders of the next generation.

Our theme this year, Catching the Fire, flows from a prophetic word received at Newday Youth Festival 2024. For the past twenty years, God has marked Newday with Water — a season of restoring, refilling, and refreshing. But the next twenty years will be marked by Fire — a time of God’s Spirit igniting hearts, spreading passion, and advancing His Kingdom with boldness.

As youth leaders, it is essential that we first catch the fire of God — that His refining, consuming, and spreading flame would burn brightly in us before we can impart it to others. Over the weekend we will explore how we can posture ourselves to encounter His fire afresh and become catalysts of revival in our churches, youth ministries, and communities.

We also deeply believe in the value of retreating as leaders — stepping out of our usual rhythms of leading and pouring out, to come to a place where we ourselves can simply receive. Youth leadership often means continually giving, guiding, and standing in the gap for others. But leaders, too, need moments of intentional rest, replenishment, and encounter. This retreat provides a space where the usual responsibilities are laid down, and leaders can sit at the feet of Jesus, be ministered to by His Spirit, and be built up through fellowship with other like-hearted leaders.

Gathering in a context where we are not the ones leading but receiving allows God to speak freshly, to renew vision, and to strengthen weary hearts. It provides an opportunity for connection, encouragement, and sharpening among peers who understand the unique joys and challenges of youth ministry. We are convinced that healthy, refreshed, and Spirit-filled leaders will go back and lead vibrant, Spirit-filled young people. This retreat is more than just an event — it is an investment in the leaders who carry the flame into the next generation.

Our prayer is that every leader leaves this retreat with hearts ablaze — purified, passionate, and propelled by the Spirit of God — ready to advance His Kingdom and to see a generation catch the fire.

The weekend will be hosted by Tex Chettiar, Linda Geevanathan & Martin Segal.
